A 7th grade ADHD Pre-Algebra student

A 7th grade ADHD Pre-Algebra student has had a tough week. Monday, he hurt his writing hand and it is swollen and bruised. He is dealing with emotional issues, where his separated Dad pays very little attention to him on visits and he does not wish to visit him. But most depressing for this brilliant boy is his teacher had spoken out loud in the class about his ADHD early last week!!! This embarrassed him greatly and he still had not overcome this crushing blow, thus he has not been doing his work. His Mom had taken away everything: his gymnastics, his cell phone, all privileges and his computer games. The Mom and I converse frequently and today (hopefully) after I talked to him about his many talents and shutting out the negative things and labels, he is back on track and he feels good about himself again. The Mom will be emailing the principal about the teacher’s part, in demeaning this boy about his ADHD.
