Doubling up the teaching

An 8th grade Pre-Algebra student came in with five home work assignments! He has math every other day but for two class periods on math days. Doubling up the teaching of multi-sections a day is not how math was ever intended to be taught or learned. His class does work out of a text book but also has work sheets.
